Thanks from my old man

Wasn't sure where to put this but certainly wanted to acknowledge the efforts of the club.

I received a phone call this afternoon from someone at City asking to speak to my dad, he is 69 in June.

It seems they had my number because I do all the paying and admin for the family's season tickets.

The lad on the other end was ringing to ask how my dad was getting on, was there anything the club could help with, delivering shopping or even just having a chat?

I'm sure they have done that with plenty but I just wanted to say that small things like this are fucking incredible.

Well done City, it made mine and my old man's day.

stuff like this should be breaking news on Sly Sports. Instead today they had “Manchester United donate equipment to Salford Royal”

Did you trip over a black cat ?
Get well and stay safe

My bad health started in 2012 just after we reset ‘their’ year counter.
It’s almost Akin to the Robert Johnson song Crossroads Blues (1936) covered by Elmore James, Cream (Clapton) where the singer sold his soul to the devil for his musical ability yeah there are many more).

Only, I don’t recall making a pact with the Devil for him to take my health if City became the all conquering heroes of today.
I’ve never been to a crossroads in Mississippi, however, I have been across that junction outside Kellogg’s at Trafford Park in the dead of night a few times and find it a bit eerie!

Thanks for your comment Karen. Fortunately the woman who sits next to me is a retired GP and she keeps those around me informed about why one of my mates turned up instead of me.

All, stay away from one another. This virus is no joke, it may stop me going for 2 seasons (dependent upon vaccine) because if I catch it I will never recover (waiting for pneumonia jab next week).

In 2018 whilst at death’s door I had a choice, to slip away or to fight. I chose to live, and always will.
Stay safe folks, both physically and mentally.

Great to hear of this. Thanks for sharing.

I was called a couple of weeks ago by a young man at City asking how I was.. I'm just a 54 year old bloke who has a season ticket with my Missus. Just such a kind, caring gesture. It made my day too day too.

A friend was taken ill at Real Madrid away. He had to go to hospital immediately after the game with bad chest pains. For him to admit that they must have been bad. He was admitted to hospital. He had one procedure Friday and another Saturday. Stent and angieblast (forgive spelling). On the Monday he was told he had to leave as beds needed for coronavirus. Managed to get back on the Saturday, and missed Cup final, first missed match for 10 years. The things some people do for City.
He had the phone call but didn't mention his stay in Madrid.

Thank you Madrid for your brilliant care, and life saving actions.
