That 34 Year Banner Mocking Us at The Swamp.

Plenty of us will never forget ….. scummy red cunts

I'll certainly never forget, nor how the shitehouse media always focused on it. Imagine the uproar if we did similar today? Like the never guilty they are both clubs with no shame, class or respect yet hold themselves up as standard bearers for all those things. They are scum and may their demise be complete and long lasting.

Huge difference between us and the rags. When we were shit we just laughed at them, jeered their plastic glory hunting fans and said they didn't come from Manchester. Their was just enough truth in this to piss them off, even bothering to deny it in Red Issue thus giving it more credence. Also complaining for all their trophies we seemed to have more fun than them. We just got on with having a good time never letting bad footy spoil a great day out. Dagenham Dan the Man U fan was our response to them, the sad glory hunting plastic rag who graced the pages of BTH or was it Chips n Gravy. I was no more bothered by the banner than I was by their trophy haul. I worked with so many of the pathetic fuckers who couldn't find OT on a map. While I was loving trips to Maine Rd involving serious piss ups in the third division. They watched sky and tried to wind me up on Monday, my Whitty response was fuck off you M****h bastards. The odd genuine fan was embarrassed by the many plastics and found talking footy with me impossible. So no , no banner to act like them, we don't need it, the bad years were also very good years and made us the fans we are today, at least FOC's like me. Let them suffer knowing the alternative to us is Liverpool we don't need to point out the obvious.

Another good post.

Ohhhh Man City

The only football team to come from Manchester

We are so fucking blessed to witness these times unlike so many of our blue brothers sadly no longer with us

Fuck the red losers and their play school banner …… wankers

That banner will always remind us how far we have come while also showing them how far behind they have fallen which to me is a win win, so no to a new banner, plus there showing all the world how shite they have become.

I'll never forget either this or the red paint they threw at the Tevez Welcome to M/cr sign as I had to walk through the stains that most of the actual paint left on the floor as I lived down that road at the time.

Yes I lost two mates young between 1984/86 who went to matches with me and suffered the pain who never got to see these times. I always think about them when we lift another trophy.

'Welcome to Manchester' was the poster. These cunts photoshopping Ronaldo to said billboard just sums them up

Maybe Sid has realised what a stupid fucking idea it was. It does make me question how old Sid is,like he's only seen City's success, while us longer in the tooth remember years of pain and piss taking from the Rags who thought they were entitled to success and how we are just better than those Red twats. We have a self-depreciative humour that sets us apart from those arrogant c*nts.

He's middle aged at least, posted a thread while back about a personal subject in off topic that dates him to growing up during 70s and 80s at latest.

I saw a picture of it again tonight whilst browsing Twitter.

Then it suddenly hit me.

The Rags are fast approaching a 10 Year anniversary,of not winning the Title.

With little sign they will be winning the League in the next 10 years either. :-)

Does anyone else think it would be a great idea,if we reciprocated that Swamp Banner at the Etiihad on the 10 year anniversary. And start adding to it every year.

A constant reminder of how the mighty have fallen.

I hated the one at the Swamp,it cut like a knife.

Would love those fuckers to see our piss take Banner every televised game.

Would definitely contribute.

I think it would be hilarious.

What do other Blues think ?
Nah! That's Petty. I'd rather they stew in the knowledge that we could.

That banner was an embarrassment and a tit for tat banner will also be an embarrassment if we ever stoop to their level. it was a sad and pathetic display of smug arrogance we shouldn't want to be associated with. We're better than that so let's just keep winning trophies whilst we can while they are in our shadow.

We should also make sure that when ever we visit the swamp and turn them over to really enjoy the occasion and laugh in their faces. The atmosphere at the swamp in the cIty end when we gave them another lesson in football was fantastic to hear. You just know they must’ve been hurting. Karma is beautiful at times.

Fuck them.
Here's an idea let's just keep finishing above them in the League every year and turn them over whenever we draw them in the cup competitions.
I suspect sooner or later we might meet them in a Champs League quarter final. (If they can qualify because their qualification draws resemble the Sherpa Van Trophy difficulty) Thrashing them in that would be very satisfying.

No. We don’t care what they’re doing or not doing. To acknowledge their current drought would take a bit of class away from what we are doing.

It’s what separates us from them, much in the same way you’ll never see Mahrez and KDB, for example, try to replicate that disrespectful piece of shit penalty Pires and Henry attempted that time. Classless pair of cunts.

We aren’t like those clubs.

I found the banner demoralising. A nasty gloating approach. I would not wish us to ever take that attitude. The Stoke win was a cathartic day for me. Especially after the semi-final win. Millions of fans watch their teams week in week out and know they will never win a trophy. There are massive clubs who haven't won a trophy in years and do not face that humiliation from rivals. I know we City fans took a fair criticism for the Munich chants. But any fan with knowledge will also remember that we shared our ground with the rags after the bombing in WW2. 81962 fans at Maine Road, still their highest attendance.Pardoe, The King, Haaland, all cropped by rags but we took it on the chin.It is the gloating, and even disrespect from red nose that makes me dislike rags. How the tables have turned.
Every time I catch the tube though, and I see "mind the gap", I sing the song and laugh to myself. For me that is enough.
