That minute aplause for Stan?

My point is who the fuck are they to tell us we have no respect when we don't clap all the way through 19 minutes?

For one we had no idea what it was for and for two its a pretty ludicrous idea.

So would you not clap for one minute on 4 if something similar happened to Kompany?

Give your head a wobble pal.

I'm sure they wasn't chanting at us in any anger.

We did end up clapping during the break when Ferris gave our best wishes to Petrov.

They were chanting at us in anger, the weirdos.

If you are going to have a chant for an ill captain, you really shouldn't use it as a stick to hit the opposition fans with.

As Stillsy said, I had no idea what it was about and I guess no-one else did either, so the accusation of 'no respect' is a bit out of order.

On anoher note, were we the first to do this celebration thing for Neil Young, or had it been done by someone else before that?

Respect for Villa fans for doing this, I genuinely think it was more about most city fans didn't realise what it was about, rather than neglecting to join in. If we'd have known, we'd have joined in.

If instituted for Mario, would the clapping continue through all the first-half stoppage time?

Really nice gesture from the Villa fans, the poor guy is fighting to stay alive ffs.

Had I known about it I'd have joined in - as a vast majority of the City fans would. I'm sure that most of our away support will join in when we play them down there.

I wonder if baconface falls ill (wouldn't wish that even on that old piss can) that the rags will start clapping at 95 minutes?

It's been going for years.

Weren't we all supposed to do it for Buzzer's alcoholic wife-beating Irish mate?

Espanyol still have a minutes applause on the 21st minute every game for Daní Jarque. I think both of these are great, shows respect to people who are important for their club

This gives me an idea - how about we all clap through the entire 93rd minute of every match for a certain Mr Aguero! ;-)

To be honest I didnt have a clue what they were doing for the first 30 secs of their minutes applause then when i saw Given clapping and 19 mins on the clock the penny dropped and i thought fair play thats a nice gesture.

However i was dumbfound after the minute was up and the verbal onslaught that followed cos we didnt join in it was disgusting and detracted from what they had done!
