The “Big Mal” final!

I used to go to the pub near the station but think that has gone now isn’t it? Greyhound rings a bell though. It’s alright now. Wasn’t great in the 80’s!

Most of London wasn’t, especially South/South East. My old man was a bank manager in Stockwell in them times. Held up 3 times in a year. Different City back then. I try and explain this to my kids but they don’t really get it!

Edit- Actually just read about it. Same pub. Believe it was knocked down by developers but after a few years then rebuilt.

Had many a good night in there ! One of the lads at my residence who worked for Nat West Bank as I did, gave up his job and became the landlord!

Yeah that pub has gone.

Greyhound is the one on the point/corner of that side of palace on your right if going down to Forest Hill. It’s a nice Gastro pub now. Like most our nowadays.

Jesus, that’s right. There was a Johnny Bond chant immediately to make the point. That’s a 44 year old memory unlocked.
It was also on the Granada series CITY
Still my favourite cup run and similar to one’s first kiss and shenanigans always fondly remembered.
Grew up in the 70’s looking for a Cup run but we badly underperformed
