blue tinted glasses city no chance

Poster who used go by the name of 'tueart'.....

and why do you say this because i dont think city are 1 of the 20 most important teams in football which they are not (yet i suppose)

Not saying we are right now but we are certainly knocking on the door.....you always seem to have a downer on your own team a bit like that 'tueart' poster!

not sure what you getting at now you agree with me that we aint in the top 20??????? there may be some negative post but if you wanna find them and tell me why im wrong go ahead

I think some people are missing the point of the original post. The crieria CTID used were: prestige, history, finance and current success. Purely on the basis of current finance then there is justification for City's inclusion, as the transfers we make may well have implications across Europe. It's a crude method of crowbarring our inclusion into such a list, but City can no longer be veiwed byanyone as insignificant, almost irrespective of success on the pitch.

I think City will be "important" soon, but I am a little hesitant to include them on the list just because the guy who bought us is filthy rich. Take away the Arab, City offers little financial clout. Let's see how the club progresses with all the money from ADUG and see if it can actually self-sustain and make money. Then it will have more of an "important" club reputation. Frankly, us thinking we're important because we have money while landing in 10th place is kind of a joke. These things take time, we'll be "important" one day, lets just not get ahead of ourselves.

Would Chelsea have been considered a "major player" in world football before Abramahovic took over?
Sure, they were a top 6 side but "power brokers?"
Never.
They were broke.Bates even sold the pitch to the fans trust to make sure that they couldn't be bought by developers and sold off!!!
They were never in the race to sign the top players-the Ronaldhino's of this world- before he came on the scene.
Unless you count Veron...realistically,they were about two seasons in front of where we are now.

The fact is,you can't achieve anything in European football anymore unless you're bankrolled.
It's an enforced lockout fuelled by TV,which is why ADUG have rattled so many cages by daring to upset the "natural order."

Our financial power makes City, regardless of our natural habit of self-depreciation- most certainly one of the major players in world football at the moment.

So based on that criteria,I would say that as of our takeover we are well in the top "20 most important clubs."

Tueart is dennis tuearts son, he's a nice lad but has had quite a downbeat view on city since his dad was forced out of the club.

This doesn't make sense. You're comparing our financial clout with a side that has won numerous trophies and is consistently in the top 4? That almost makes my point for me. We have money, we don't have anything to show yet but a 9th or 10th place finish. When you say "they were about two seasons in front of where we are now," what is the highest City has finished in the league? Everyone just needs to slow down with the "we are a major club" talk and focus on building a major club and supporting our team. The "natural order" ADUG has certainly upset is true financially, but City have not upset any natural order on the league table, where it really matters to be called an "important" team. Fucking poor-ass Fulham is finishing 7th and is in the Europa League. Big teams don't mean big bank rolls, they mean shiny trophies we are yet to acquire.
