Wanchope's back-heeled winner at Leicester, that abandoned League Cup tie at home to Ipswich, the Goat getting the only goal at Newcastle and the Swamp draw were worth a mention but most of the football was highly forgettable. Joe Royle did a great job getting us back in the Prem but wasnt quite up to the job of keeping us there.

Was that the early season game at Elland Road where Wanchope played up front on his own even though he'd been away on international duty and only just got back in the country? Thought it might get a bit dodgy afterwards but the locals were strangely quiet.
Pity they beat us 4-0 at our place four months later.

Yes the early season game and yes Wanchope had just returned as you mention

Horrible season and one I would like to forget . I remember walking out at half time against Arsenal . We were 4-0 down after 15 minutes . A really shit season with few highlights .
