Well done, Nicosia! What a refreshing change....

They'll get Barca and Messi will get a hat-trick in every half.

Fair play to them though. Quality.

I kind of agree Bigga. I watched Spurs for my sins.

If it was more of a match i would be interested but as others have said the match was dead and buried already.

I know others are making this a Barca thing, but I'm quite concerned that I'd feel the same if City hammered teams like this all the time!

It's probably the competitor in me.

Re: I Should Have Been in Awe...

Barca might be the best team on the planet on their day but they haven't managed to see off Mourinho in La Liga this season. In fact they're 10 points adrift at the moment. For all their guile and brilliance they may yet not win the the Champions League two years running and make history doing so. As for Messi he is a magician on a football field but still has to come to the end of his career before he can claim the title of the best ever. He hasn't managed to turn this form on in the World Cup or Copa America when it truely matters yet. He'sstill young so there is plentyof time for him to do so. For me though Pele carries that accolade with 3 World Cup wins and 1000 first class goals in 20 years, making 50 goals per year for 20 years. Messi could still overhaul him but he has along way to go yet to prove he is the greatest ever.
Oh and Bayer Leverkeusen were awful tonight and I'd have fancied us to put
5 or 6 past them.

But are we talking the greatest player ever due to what hes won or just the greatest player most of us have seen because he,s just a joy to watch?

Re: I Should Have Been in Awe...

The messi v pele argument can't really be compared. Pele spent almost all his football playing days in Brazil, can anyone tell me the standard of the Brazilian league in the 50s/60s, the Brazil national team on the other hand where all world class and had good managers. Messi has not been afforded a proper international manager yet in either of his world cup appearances,

Re: I Should Have Been in Awe...

According to Fabregas tonight Messi's the greatest player ever. Love to see him manage that. He's not there yet though but time will tell. On his day he is almost unstopable. There was an element of Harlem Globtrotters though about tonight and if it hadn't been Spuds on another channel I might have switched over.

I turned over when the 5th went in and watched Master Chef. At least there was some level of competition going on. Exhibition games don't interest me.

After the first goal, my interest waned. Had Leve scored first, I'd have watched on. After the second, I turned my back on the TV and dived in't murky world o' t'internet!
