The Album Review Club - Week #146 - (page 1935) - Ocean Rain - Echo and the Bunnymen

No worries, always happy to educate :)

You'll be pleased to know that my upcoming nomination has no banjos, fiddles, mandolins or yeehaws.

It does have a spot of pedal steel guitar, but that is one of the weakesr tracks on the album and not typical of the rest of it.

And you will be pleased to know, I have no idea what my next nomination will be.

I think my next nomination will get a big fat zero from Foggy.

On another note, I have at times found myself thinking, how long of this and the playlist thread does it take for all our algorithm sporify 'personalities' to effectively all merge into one. Mine is already starting to think I now like Americana ffs. Thanks for that, Rob!

Haha, that's quite a funny thought, the BM music hive mind!

Genuine question, how do you think Crawler would go down on here (you are the only other person that's listened to it).

Right, when's Gornik up?
Go on then, I can see you and others are hungry for the next round to begin.

Thanks to @Coatigan once again for running the Spring Break playlist - even if he did make a funny error in his first post - omitting my song from the playlist! Funny because the whole point of him running it was so that I could take part. Anyway, it was quickly corrected and I don't think anybody spotted it.

In all seriousness, anybody who has run these polls, competitions, weekly updates will know that whilst it's a fun thing to do, it's not always easy, and I think Coatigan did a sterling job.

With that, the musical caravan is about to set off on round #6 of it's trawl through the backwaters of rock and pop music. There is currently a gap in early July because of KnareboroughBlue's withdrawal. I've left everything after this in place but it may mean people moving up the queue. Can I remind everybody that it's a good idea having your write-up ready a couple of weeks in advance because things do change and being ready to step in ensures we don't run out of music to listen to.

Kicking off is @GornikDaze , who isn't here today, but don't panic because he has left me with all the details. Here's your clue.

Crawler is a great album but most of the posters on here would only listen to it once and dismiss it. They think a great pick is something they already like.
Wowzers. Sweeping or what.

I listen to everything at least 3 times. And if you had read the thread you'd see that I've bought a few albums of new to me music. As have others.
