The Album Review Club - Week #147 - (page 1942) - Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

Thanks Rob, you do such a Sterling job on here it’ll be great if you manage the new thread. Both my self and @Coatigan can help out when needed.
I can certainly do the December one as works starts to slow down then.
As I mentioned before , I think we should invite creators from the whole of BM and see what the response is.
Whenever your ready.
Thanks, you're too kind.

Right, we start on Monday! Halloween, why not?

I'll run it from then and through November, hand over to you for December and Coatigan can do January.

I think you should do the honours and make the first playlist. I'll start a thread in the next couple of days and we'll take it from there.

But before the excitement of a new music thread, we have the weekly round-up.

Once again, this was a week that promoted a lot of good discussion, so well done @Coatigan for the nomination.
Until less than a hour ago, Frightened Rabbit's Painting of a Panic Attack was in a 4-way tie, but @southamptonblue 's timely return has sorted out that particular deadlock! 16 votes for an average of gives an average of 6.31

Now over to one of our dependable posters, who I know will turn up (I'm tempting fate aren't I?). It's all yours. @journolud

Yeah swooped in like a true seagull. Oh wait that's Brighton. Ach southerners, the metaphor stands. ;).

While we are waiting, I might mention it again on whatever Christmas song thread Rob and Hammer come up with as it is too early now, but Frightened Rabbit's 'It's Christmas So we'll stop' is a great alternative christmas song to add to one's lists for the festive period. Somewhat clumsily rambled lyrics, in true spirit of the occasion, but a lovely carol feel to it. They also have a boxing day song to follow the next day called called Boxing Night.

Nice to be thought of as dependable. Not that I’ve been sat here refreshing the page…

Struggled a bit for clues but your starter is that this is an artist who apparently was an inspiration to Elton and Elvis. I’m not sure though what Grant wood have made of this album

Inspiration to Elvis! If we are talking Presley then is this a 1930s/40s blues artist?

The only thing I know about Grant Wood is that he painted American Gothic, so possibly an American goth band?

The Cult had a song called American Gothic on their album 'Beyond Good and Evil'. David Ackles also had an album called American Gothic.

Not sure how they relate to Elvis and Elton though.

David Ackles is my guess then. If not, The Cult ;-)

Edited my previous post at the same time that you were replying so not sure if you saw the edit or not.
