The Album Review Club - Week #149 - (page 1963) - Every Picture Tells A Story - Rod Stewart

Genuine question, how do you think Crawler would go down on here (you are the only alother person that's listened to it).

In theory there's more than enough going on in it that it should prompt some really good discussion IF people are prepared to give it multiple listens. I also think they are a band worth discussing, in terms of their content and influences, irrespective of whether you are a fan or not.

There's a random element in that some weeks people have more time than others and I think the thread works best when people have had the time to really listen and in some cases persist with the pick.

Crawler is a great album but most of the posters on here would only listen to it once and dismiss it. They think a great pick is something they already like.

The first five words of your post are spot on but I think after that it starts going a bit awry!

It is definitely a 'three listens is not enough' album. But my word is it excellent once it seeps in. Every note, echo and stressed syllable!

That's the kind of stuff I Want to be putting forward, and one or two like it that in some ways are arguably quite niche that they'd almost be unfair on those that just aren't into the type. But at the same time, is putting things that I consider mildly acceptable for most really the right thing? An ongoing internal debate.
