The Album Review Club - Week #196 (page 1316) - Aja - Steely Dan

You could be onto something there.
In all seriousness, it’s something that could be done fairly easily. I’ve published a few books on Amazon so I know the process.

It would probably make peanuts because only people on here would buy it, but it would make a nice keepsake for everybody. And if by some small chance it made any money, we could all share it.

You can Revolut me.

Thanks for your input.

When I do the updated table tomorrow, there will be a new column filled with page numbers.

This makes it easy for me to rip off everybody's fantastic introductions to their album choices, put them in a book and make a fortune selling it on Amazon. "Rob's 100 Albums That Changed The World." Just another 40 or so to go and I'll have enough :)
My originals on word here have copyright on the last page…
But I’m not unreasonable, get your people to contact my people.

That's excellent; I am therefore going to make good on my longstanding threat to choose records and artists I think are fucking shit and write scathing reviews instead of picking records I actually like. :)

First up: OK Compu . . .

Rob could subtitle the book "He's Not Really Here - One man's quest to erase Thom Yorke from music history" :-)

Very enjoyable

So good to have a nomination that I’m vaguely aware of but never properly heard also a bonus it’s in the Top 1100 list

What I like is just the change of genres - it reminded me of the Eels in terms of its attitude but there’s a lot more rock/grunge here but also a splash of Pop every now and then and you can hear so many influences throughout - Velvet Underground and Nirvana notably

‘Wave of Mutilation’ and ‘Gouge Away’ the dark heavy ones , ‘Here Comes Your Man’ the light Pop, ‘Hey’ I wasn’t to sure of until I watched this one live and it’s a killer base track that explodes into life every now and then , ‘Debaser’ is ok saved by an awesome outro , also a mention for ‘Monkey Goes To Heaven’ … that’s a lot of stand out tracks.

Would like to score higher - but something about this Album holds be back. So I’ll go for a very solid 7/10

Great pick

A great first nomination from @GornikDaze, Doolittle by Pixies pulled in 19 votes at an average of 5.97.

It's not all about the numbers though, is it? But do you want another number? 35. That's thirty-five pages of discussion on this album (plus loosely related ramblings).

Thanks to the efforts of Coatigan, Eamo and journolud, we now have page numbers for every album in the table on page #1. This means that if you are stuck for some reading material on a winter's evening, you can pull up a chair by the fire and quickly jump to each album and see what we all said about it.

Next, it's me, so stand by for some clues to this week's selection.

I'm so confident in Gornik's, and mine from 2 minutes slower, guess that I l'll stop trying
