One plot weakness from last week that just doesn't add up is why they just accepted that Jimmy Lakewell hung himself immediately on his return to prison rather than investigate the more obvious suspicion that he had been murdered. Normally Steve has a hunch when things ain't right but this time absolutely no inclination to establish the facts.

That's the point. If they realise his physical problems he'd probably be stood down on health grounds.

Only way to salvage this is if Carmichael is in fact the only good cop and exposes the whole thing due to her incisive and focussed approach. Hastings has been emotional and pretty useless throughout but not corrupt. Not likely but would be unexpected and gives a fresh focus for a new series...

That was my takeaway, especially after she seemed to be (far too obviously) batting back the Police corruption angle in the interview.

only way to salvage it is if she, the police chief in the suit guy and the old bent copper all get done off in one go. Then actual write a plot that hasn't been stolen from News 24.

If you look hard enough you find plot weaknesses, you will find them. It’s good TV. That’s what I like about it. I enjoyed last nights episode after the two blockbuster episodes preceding it.

It’s like people have forgotten the cliffhangers of the previous two episodes. Sunday’s was a bit more tense but equally brilliant. Miss Schroeder is brilliant, what a scoop to get her in (notice no one in here has talked about wooden acting for a few weeks!).
