The Amazing Line Of Duty starts again tonight

I know they're trying to be accurate with regards to police procedure but FFS, do they have to go to the nth degree with everything. It's more about that than the story.
Had to laugh at the end with the voiceover during the credits explaining what CHIS means. You'd think they'd have woven it into the story so we could work it out.

I thought that they were talking about Dave Chisnell from the darts! I wondered what that had to do with a murder investigation!

The other noticeable thing was the hugely inflated proportion of women and BAME police officers compared to real life and that one of the main characters had to be gay which is standard in every single BBC drama these days. It's quite right that dramas should include BAME and gay/lesbian characters but it seems that the BBC go overboard these days to demonstrate their inclusive credentials even when it's barely relevant to the plot. Having said that, it's the same with Unforgotten on ITV.

First one I've tried to watch.
Had the air of a daytime TV drama....I'm not getting it.
Perhaps Mark E Smith was right and British TV Is shit.
It's no Spiral that's for sure.

Prime Suspect was ace back in the day....Cracker too if I recall correctly.
I watched Spiral from the start. Loved it. There's something about Catherine Proust that appeals even as she ages but always appears scruffy. They have some attractive Algerian (?) young lady detectives as well.
I am a contrary bugger who watches more foreign series than English speaking so BBC 4 and Channel 4 keep me busy.

French women are my Achilles heel.
The redheaded lawyer is rather fit too..but I'm a few seasons behind (its a show me and the ex watched a few years ago and a lot of things happened between then and now).
Definitely catching up though.

Spiral is fantastic and both the main female characters have something about them. You can tell it's a new series cos Laure has a different hairstyle in episode one.
