I meant Kelechi, and the folly of having just one recognised top striker in your squad for a 55 game season remains. We don't have to play two strikers at once, but that's a whole different matter from not even having the option for change on the bench. Lightweight false no.9's can kiss my arse in a league as robust as the Prem

Leicester did OK with just Jamie Vardy and stupidly tight defending last year.

But sure, Pep's game doesn't work in the PL, don't you think you should let him know?

It's a 55 game season and Aguero is frequently out injured. If you think him playing Wednesday/Saturday week after week after week is a recipe for success you can't be helped

If you think this new striker will sit on the bench waiting for an Aguero injury, while Kelechi does fuck all, then you can't be helped.

Recipe for success? Give over. Pep Guardiola's won plenty of games with only midfielders and a goalie, I think he knows what he's doing.

I agree it's suicide to go into the season with only serg and iheanacho as strikers btw

Nolito can also play as a striker. Problem solved.

Why do you, and others, keep saying Aguero is frequently out injured, he's not,I posted earlier he played 44 games last season, only 3 games less than Hart.
Only once has he played less than 40 games in a season. You dont win or finish up ruuner up in the golden boot if you are mising loads of games injured.

Point taken but he hasn't gone a season since he arrived here without being injured so that's what they are getting at.

I would like another Striker personally but each to their own

I see your point I dont really want to disagree however having been linked with strikers and this now going silent and us hopefully loosing Bony when we have in the past had 4 strikers which was to many but did mean we won the league unlike the last two years. Then not getting a striker would seem disappointing. I Having two strikers seems dangerous unless we have someone in the academy who can change things if Kelechi has an off game and Augero is injured or false 9 works I have some doubts but I trust Pep hopefully if it does not work it wont be for long or will be around Jan window.

We had 4 strikers when we played 2 up top.

Now we play 1 up top, we'll have 2 strikers.

That might have cut more ice if Pep himself hadn't already acknowledged that managing in the EPL will be a voyage of discovery for him, so sarcastic bollocks about letting Pep know his way won't work is potentially just that; sarcastic bollocks. Anyway, In the circumstances it might be an idea to have the personnel in place to play more than one way.
I'm not sure what Leicester and Vardy have in common with City as we will not be parking buses and lumping long balls over the top or playing like them even remotely.
Nolito can play as a striker, problem solved?! I can think of about 100 strikers I would prefer up top to Nolito. Is that really the level of centre forward we should be enthusing about? A half decent 29 year old winger with 5 or 6 international caps filling in. Nah, not for me.
Pep is a great manager, but there are people on here investing almost boundless faith him to instantaneously turn water into wine. This league is 10 times more competitive than any other

Pep said the same thing about the Bundesliga when joining Bayern, yet he still managed with his own style and formations regardless.

If you think Pep will stick with two strikers at the same time then you haven't been paying attention and there's zero chance he would tie himself into a situation where that has to be possible.

But again you have failed to explain why any world class striker will join and await Kun being out.

Do you honestly expect anyone here to give a fuck how many strikers YOU would prefer over Nolito? He's a goal scoring winger, but if we need cover for Aguero and Kelechi won't do, I'm sure he can provide it adequately.

I tend to stick with the people who have confidence in the ability of the best manager in football over bed wetters who worry about how we'll beat fucking Bournemouth if Aguero picks up an injury.

Leicester are relevant because they are proof that squads win titles. Despite what people think, you can't just throw a bunch of random expensive players together and expect them to have chemistry, work for each other, follow instructions and ultimately win.

Similarly to you, I can think of a fair few attackers I'd prefer to Nolito but I have absolutely no idea what he is going to provide the team, what role he'll play and certainly not how many goals he'll score. Maybe lots, maybe none. Same as if we signed Lewandowski, Aubameyang or Suarez. Maybe lots, maybe none. You can act like we can predict that going off their previous seasons but absolutely nothing is that straight forward in football. Like Leicester last season.

This thread is hilarious! Why did we bother getting pep, we should of invited people off here to go and see Mr Mansour for an interview.

If anyone has Peps contact details please contact him to say he won't win the league without signing another world class striker or without signing an Andy Caroll type striker...

We have a decent second striker Iheanacho, where does he go while this striker we buy sits on the bench ?

It depends on how highly you rate Iheanacho I suppose. I think he's good, but with a long way still to go. Whether he's good enough yet to spearhead a top Premier League forward line on a regular basis I'm not yet convinced. Purely subjective opinion of course. Maybe he is (good enough)
