Tricky 3 overs? They need to get at least 500, I don't think we really need a tricky 3 oversGod no. Now they have a tricky 3 overs before lunch. Then have to go through it again straight after lunch. Brilliant declaration.

Great, aggressive, front foot declaration, not sure why you feel it's baffling?
The message it sends out is more important than three overs before lunch.

We want to take 10 wickets. Having the openers, open twice, gives us a better/easier chance of that.

Realistically were weren't going to get a lot more with a new ball and Finn and Broad at the crease. A few more runs won't change the game greatly but nick off a wicket before lunch and we're well on the way. I think it's a great decision.

We have almost 4 days to take those 10 wickets. I honestly don't think it makes a blind bit of difference to have 3 overs before lunch. In a close game, I could see the point in trying to nick a wicket, but with so much time and so many runs needed, it's neiter here nor there. You could just as easily argue that every minute in the field for them while our tail bats demoralises their entire team.Eh. I really don't understand your point?
