There was something really cruel about that live tv announcement from Clarke that he was retiring just as the England players walked behind him taking the adulation from the crowd.

Brilliant from England. I think we all had high hopes for this young team but I for one never imagined that we had this type of series in us so early on. The world is our oyster now.

There seems to be a very good atmosphere in the camp, with Root and Wood the chief "cheerleaders".
