The Ashes 2015

Some of the batsmen are not up to test cricket - Lyth, Bairstow and Butler, whilst Bell is past his sell-by date.

If Ali is the best spinner in England then heaven help us, on the whole it has been a dreadful series and this team will struggle to win any tests on foreign soil.

Lyth out cheaply yet again. Thank you and goodbye Adam. Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.
Never seen a batsmen so lacking in style, he'd look out of place on the village green. If England were being serious about 4-1, he would be back in Yorkshire.

Don't think my day 5 ticket will be rquired, unless it pisses down all day tomorrow.

Problem is the standard of country cricket just gives no indication if a batsman can make the step up. It's all well and good smashing a run a ball century against 75-80mph dross bowling but then when they're placed in front of a half decent international bowler they're soon found out. To be honest Root is the only player in ages that has shown they truly belong at this level. The jury is still very much out on Bairstow, Butler etc.

Pretty much only Root, Cook and Ali have even done the bare minimum you'd expect from your batsmen this series for us. So many daft dismissals. It's been hard to bat on most of these pitches, but a lot of our wickets have just been given away. Pretty sure Mark Wood has batted better than about 4 or 5 of our batsmen.

Just got in and Holding pointing out Bairstow was very unlucky with the ball bouncing up and hitting the catchers grill on his helmet. Ball should have been dead at that point.
Not really unlucky in my book, more that he just missed out on a chance to get incredibly lucky and be saved by a technicality.
