Ian Bell needs to be dropped......cant score runs at all right now......Daryl Mitchell needs to open instead of Lyth
Really? A very odd choice, why Daryl Mitchell? Isn't he into his 30's with a good but unremarkable career? Hales would be the more obvious choice imo, a more natural counter balance to the grinding of Cook and Ballance as well. He's at least at an age where he has time to improve and come to terms with Test cricket, Mitchell is far too old. Carberry should surely be ahead of him if you're going for experience? I'd rather give Lyth untill the end of the series anyway, he's not looked completely out of his depth and you have to give people a chance. Bell should be under pressure though, maybe from Bairstow or Taylor?

There's a school of thought that Bells 'eyes have gone' it would explain his sudden drop into awful form. Bairstow is in incredible form, be sad to lose yet another batsmen from Yorkshire though, coping with the call ups atm but there's a limit.
Pretty simple solution, just rename England "Yorkshire International". ;) Still think Sidebottom could do a job for England as well tbh, a lot better than some of the dross we bowl and he'd offer something different. Still the second best bowler in the country (behind Jimmy) when it's swinging, just the 10 wickets in the match at the minute composed of the first 6 in the first innings and the first 4 in the second. He's an absolute machine, or Rolls Royce as Dizzy calls him.
