The Balotelli roundabout

He probably won't be a Ronaldo or Messi. But its a shame thats what you consider the standard for an immense player. I consider them extraordinary.

I agree they are and Mario could become a brilliant player.I'm not having a go at him I'm saying people should not compare him to them two because as you say they are extraordinary.

Some loons on this Balo thread, at no point did I say he was immense, extraordinary or brilliant. In fact in my opinion he's done ok but not justified a 24M price tag.

It was Balotelli who said that only Messi was better than him at the moment - deluded or what!!

One thing I have noticed is while some people feel his antics are reflecting badly on the club, my son is 11 and he and his mates think he is great. My daughter who is 16 and her friends think he's great (for other reasons!) and while I know this is some of your worst nightmare but they will buy Balotelli merchandise. The boys were all trying to find the skull gloves in the winter. He is raising the clubs profile with younger people and this can only be a good thing in the long run. Like I said I know a lot of few don't appreciate these sort of fans but I think if someone can capture the youngsters attention and it draws them to City it's a good thing, the club will need the income and new fans are new fans at the end of the day.
Has i stated in a earlier post its seems like its mostly the younger fans that think mario is the dogs even though i agree hes a big talent hes also gotta be a big headache to the powers that be with his behavior off the pitch .

He's has his 1st season, and i he's shown us what he is about, a young petulant brilliant footballer, during the season there has been signs of maturity, getting clattered and just getting up, ok the stare is there but early on in the season he'd throw a strop and count himself out of the game. If we can bring on his maturity much like has done with Micah then I believe we will have 1 of the best players around, he's shown glimpses of a great footballer but if he can man the fuck up on the pitch them glimpses will become the norm.

agree with most of what you say ,but don,t understand why fans are so sensitive about his "stare"..cantona and henry at arse were moody sulky brilliant players. i,d rather have balo being moody than benjani grinning after another wasted opportunity.

as another poster has said, maybe we adults focus too much on things that don,t matter-kids seem to love him.he,s a star.he,s turning heads towards our club. he scores brilliant goals,he winks at rio,he throws darts,he stares(wow!) he takes the piss out of bobby manc for not being able top speak english well, despite taking lessons for 18 months,he trips up dzeko on the pitch at blackburn,he,s the first to join in celebrations when his team-mates score..so much for the sulky kid...he nutmegs stoke full backs live on tv during the fa cup final,he pushed sorenson to make one of the saves of the season during the same match..he makes an experienced goal keeper like brad friedel,(no slouch at saving penalties),just crumble in a heap at the goal-post in total exasperation at the kids impudence and class...the list is endless...

carry on balo, ignore the moaners, keep enjoying yourself, develop your game and entertain the masses.oh,and keep adding to your already bulging winners medal bag..at the age of 20 you only need a world cup winners medal to match the life time achievements of bobby charlton....more titles, same domestic cups, same european cup total..thats our balo.

The lads 20 years old with an endless pot of money, Im 19 and if it was me I would do the exact same things as him, hell most blokes of 40 on here would do the shit he's doing. He's enjoying himself as his reward for having immense talent. He doesn't drink so what he does doesn't exactly effect his career all it does is effect his reputation, but having joined the blue family he should feel the comfort that he doesn't have to be scared of what we read in the paper because he's one of us.

I love the lad and he will have to do a lot for my opinion to change of him. Think next season will be a big one for him!

agreed.

he,d prob be more of a "hero" to some fans if he did drink..ie embraced the english culture to its maximum. when a few of our 1st teamers went on the piss in scotland and found themselves in some students bedroom(!!??) it was quickly forgotten about.

young jack wilshere gets involved in a drunken fight outside a nightclub and is arrested-of course it wasn,t his fault,he was only trying to to be a "peacemaker"..credit to arsenal for ensuring a positve spin was placed on the story when it broke..we couldn,t have our little english saviour having his reputation in tatters could we..after all ,we all like a beer and lose our temper....

balo winks at wio? thjrow him in prison!

You have do more than sign a contract and be given a squad number to become " one of us" in my book.

Look at Zab on the Bus Cam on the OS and you see a real hero. Watch the commitment that Kompany, NDJ and plenty of others show every week and you'll see what will take the club forward.
All this talk about a young lad in a foriegn country is also bollocks - How is it that we never read any scandal surrounding Boyata, Boateng or any of the other players who left home at a young age?

Are you also saying that if you were given the chance to play professional football, you'd show little commitment to the club that are paying your wages and go out of your way to make an arse out of yourself at every oppurtunity?

Our manager explained this. He was taking the piss. He actually said On playstation, he chooses Messi, but in real life, he chooses himself.

I'll be honest, if he gave me that 'stare' I would fuck off sharpish as its bloody haunting, it doesnt bother me though, I rather him do that then throw the strops he did early in the season,
I think he's coming round to being a blue, the last few weeks he's shown some great emotion, he's liked being at the winning post and were not gonna argue being there either, I do think Balo could actually become a Blue.

Why on Earth would I ever want to be one of your group? Seems awfully depressing to be honest.

So this is about the parade again?
