Thanks mate. Heard of a few & already dug out rain parade (Dream Syndicate aware of too).To be fair, bassist Michael Steele was lovely too.
Look up such as The Dream Syndicate, Rain Parade, Let's Active, True West, The Three O'Clock, (singer/bassist Michael Quercio coined the term 'Paisley Underground') early REM, Rainy Day, and from Australia, The Church and Hoodoo Gurus, all linked to it.

I'm glad to hear you've got the beat. Where are you going, Beatnik Beach? I'd recommend Club Zero. Don't have a holiday romance though and fall head over heels.I'm going on vacation next week. Will give them a listen so until then my lips are sealed on the subject.

Pic's???....as if I couldn't fall in love even more with Susanna Hoffs, when this revelation sucker punched me straight in the tummy...

That's the problem for us married guys, after awhile it's too easy to just imagine white noise as speaking is impossible trying to get a word in edgeways.I’m married too, but my tongue is still in overdrive. I rarely speak, though.
They were on John Peel a fair bit but when they split Tim Gane and the singer on the last album formed Stereolab. Change of tack as he wasn't writing the politically social lyrics.Went on a bit of musical traverse last night after digging out some PU stuff (Still need to dive properly into Dream Syndicate).
But a surprise was a Brit band from the late 80's called McCarthy - anyone 'dig em'?
V political (although the singer claimed he was playing as character in these songs) but some utter gems.
I started off with the the singles collection album 'That's all very well but?....' (think I stuck 'Should the Bible be Banned' on repeat a few times - such a lush, intricate song).
Never quite made the big time I guess.
