The Barca Boys

Ok! Sorry about that I must have imagined we're playing poorly.
New players adjusting to PL it’s three games in after no pre season a couple of injuries already we’ve won the league in the past from worse starts, before you put words in my mouth I’m not saying we will this time, that’s no seriously wrong

In one of those two seasons we won the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, a record fourth league title in a row and soon after the Community Shield.

To win that league title we went unbeaten in our last 23 games, winning 19 of them, including all of the last 9.

Yeah we were shit in the FA Cup final against the Rags and after the injuries starting piling up last season we were woeful, ending that season with the another shit FA Cup final… but that’s all only been in the last 15 months, mostly last season with one game from the previous season, not two seasons.
Ok i get what you say totally. My point being, the signs were there. We won a poor league, were a fuckin disgrace in the fa cup final.
But the signs were creeping in.

In my opinion

Evidence there for all to see. Hope im wrong.

Im allowed to ask questions. Doesnt make me any less a blue than i have been for the 51 years of my life
That’s not an answer to the question I asked and never doubt your credentials

3rd in the table and an FA Cup Final while decimated by injuries. We had a bad season while Arsenal were said to have had a fantastic season, we finished 3 points behind them. Give it a rest
Again … im allowed to ask questions. If youre happy, great. Im unhappy with many facets of how the club is being run, and given people moan like fuck on here about all sorts, im guessing im not alone.
I just say it, where as some moan but then weirdly wont here a bad word against the club.

Odd

All the older players were obviously starting to show that they were coming to the end of their time with us by the end of the 2023-24 season. But it’s not like we just hung up our coat, put our slippers on and got the pipe out.

We signed Gvardiol and tried to sign Bellingham and Rice, and then Wirtz, but they didn’t want to play for this club. We have made it known we want to sign Livramento, but again, he doesn’t want to sign for this club. We are identifying top targets each Summer, but we can’t make them sign for us if they don’t want to.

We aren’t doing anything different from when we tried to sign Yaya, DSilva, Agüero, De Bruyne and Mahrez etc. the only difference is, they did want to play for this club.

Being a top football club and a great football team is as much down to pure chance that we approach the right player at the right time who wants to play for us, as it is on missing out on them.

It’s like the next manager… people say Pep’s time is up, but who’s to say that Iraola or Nagelsmann would say yes to City? Maybe neither of them would want to work for this club? Maybe Kompany would say yes, but who’s to say that his poor defensive tactics wouldn’t see him hounded out of the club by impatient fans?

I think we’ve become a bit unrealistic and too impatient as a set of fans.

Just so I’m clear, are we talking about the Barca Boys who brought us, amongst other things, the Four in a Row and The Treble?

I think our management deserve a bit more support for, possibly, a couple of lesser seasons.

The ‘Clique’ literally made history at our club. If they never win another trophy they have done us so proud.

Let’s hope Pep doesn’t wander on to the pitch soon or he might get the ‘Paul Power Treatment’ from the many fickle fans we have always had.

Time to call time on this clique.

It started out as a match made in heaven.

The worlds best coach
A DoF widely recognised as footballs shrewdest operator who had the phone number of every one worth having.
And a top dog who gelled it all together.

Now we have a coach who football past by and overtook 2 years ago and he is struggling to see his plan A never mind any sort of plan B.
A DoF who failed in too many transfer windows before swanning off into retirement
Ans a top dog who is more worried about Harold transferring his ticket as hes not feeling great than keeping us at the topZ

Add in to that mix khaldoon, who is supposedly a world elite political operator who is seemingly letting the ship drift

CHANGES NEEDED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.
Something needs to change, it's like playing with weights on our legs and seemingly no ideas from Pep or his backroom staff to really change anything and that's just stuff on the pitch.

Never win another trophy is likely, but how long do you keep them?

Nothing lasts forever and i guess they were, are always destined to spend their latter years back home.

Out of loyalty to Mansour, the club, and city he now loves Pep has stayed despite his mrs and other confidantes moving on.

My guess is he wishes he hadnt today and will be gone by Christmas.

Looking like we’re playing with weights on our legs is understandable, though.

Today was Brighton’s ninth game since the start of pre-season. They’d played three pre-season games by the time we’d had three days back in training.

Last week was also Spurs’ ninth game of the season, yesterday their tenth. They’d played four pre-season games by the time we’d had three days back in training… we’ve only played four games including pre-season full stop, four and a half weeks behind other teams.

We won’t be anything near everyone else until around the Arsenal game.

All that is true if you don't watch the games and just look at the result at the end.

We are currently playing against teams 20-30 days ahead of us in fitness and gametime. We won’t be anything near everyone else until around the Arsenal game.
Yes I know we're behind in general fitness and will lose on some 50/50 balls but, we should with respect to Brighton be able to cover that with guile and skill.

I see laissez faire performances in the last 2 games...last seasons 'middle' season was a different kettle of fish with injuries.

We had key players who missed anything between 36 to 53 games in all competitions last season. For us to still finish third with that hanging over us, with no consistency with who was fit and not, is a good achievement.
