Spurs was my first real experience of football heartbreak, and that's probably the case for many posters on here. It was a great final in '81 (both games) but heartbreaking for City, and things just went downhill thereafter. I think that cemented the dislike of Spurs as it was the last 'decent' chance of success and they snatched it from us.
I can't say they've actually done anything 'bad' for me to really dislike (others may have reasons) - it's purely emotional. It's wearing of rapidly now, but for 25 years I just didn't like them.
I understand this reason and is a similar response I got from my dad when I said I wanted Spurs to win It last night. He went to the final and the replay but other than that I haven't heard a solid reason for the hate. For example I went to the Wigan final and I appreciate that wasn't going to be our last chance of success for a while but I feel no hate to them, nor would I had Gillingham beat us that day.
I keep hearing all Spurs fans are wankers too, surprising the amount of blues that knock about with these cockneys unless we are judging them on a social media platform which if we are every set of fans are wankers. I'm have no interest in Spurs one way or the other I simply want them to win it as they play football the way I like to watch it.
