The Beatles Quiz!

Edison is correct Sir

Underrated track in my opinion, the lyrics and story is fantastic , a psychopath that murders his date, his teacher and judge with a Hammer

Think it divides opinion though and aside from McCartney the rest of the band hated absolutely everything about recording this
Even the normally undemonstrative George Martin got the hump with him somewhere around the 70th take. Bizarrely, given that they had Come Together, Her comes the sun, Something and The Long and Winding Road, on the go at roughly the same time, McCartney viewed this as a potential single. By contrast, and as you correctly state, Lennon and Harrison hated it

8) for which label did The Beatles audition on the first day of 1962

One of the biggest gaffs in history :)
A & R manager Dick Rowe heard them that day (they'd just driven down from Liverpool on a freezing 1st Jan) and turned them down.
They went on to sell a billion records. LoL
Apparently he signed the stones straight away after their audition as he didn't want to make the same mistake twice

Not straight away, The Stones were recommended to Decca by George Harrison, they were signed during the 2nd week of May 1962.

7) The repeated description of Paul's grandfather as ''very clean'' in a Hard Day's Night is an in-joke about the actor Wilfrid Brambell's role in which TV series ?
It was riffing on Harold Steptoe (son) always calling Albert (father) "a dirty old man".

Apparently Dick Rowe's explained reasoning was that "Guitar Groups have had their day", thinking the likes of The Shadows & The Ventures weren't selling as many records as last year.
When The Beatles became famous John Lennon was told Dick Rowe was "kicking himself" due to turning the Fab Four down, Lennon said "I hope he kicks himself to death".
