The Bert Trautmann story...

Thought I'd bump this thread. Trautmann the movie will come to the cinemas in November, I presume also outside Germany. The trailer is here:

Sorry German only, I could not find an English version. They used an part of Daglfing racehorse ground here in Munich where I live for City's stadium - rest done on PC. I am really looking forward to this movie.

Don’t think I could get used to John Henshaws voice being dubbed over, love to see the English version.

I know. I was looking for the bit where he shagged his sister in law, sold condemned meat or peered under a shithouse door.

Ha, there is a bit of that in the books about him.Had an eye for the ladies.

Had the pleasure of listening to him speak a few years ago at Bredbury Supporters club. One of those few times your hero matches up to your expectations and more.

I provided some historical consultancy for this film and have seen the unedited English version. In addition to the story one of the best aspects for me were the CGI recreations of Wembley and Maine Road. I'd love to see CGI Maine Road developed further by someone. John Henshaw is brilliant in the film.

I am sure the film would be excellent but well worth reading about his life story and exploits during the war. He was clearly a very strong-minded, could be quick tempered and would react to thngs he perceived as a sense of injustice. Remarkable man who had a remarkable life.

John Henshaw is brilliant fullstop.
