the best all round player in the world

Yaya is a very serious contender.

Shrek does have a good all round game. I find it hard to take Tranny seriously as a defender.
Gerrard and Essien are capable of playing multiple positions, IMO. Gerrard was virtually a one man team when the Dippers won the UCL Final.

Would surprise me if Yaya was decent in goal but I have no doubt that you could field him in any outfield role and have him give a good account of himself at the highest level.

Messi is too short to have a serious go at centre back but he is good header of the ball and, in terms of all round technical ability, he is be the best player.

Pains me, also.

But I would say Rooney.

He is effectively good in all aspects of his game, do a bit of everything.

The contradiction from me is that I don't consider him world class, if that somehow makes any sense whatsoever!

As much sense as your You Tube Videos! I permanently disagree with you on Rooney as well, good player but not nearly as good as many people make him out to be, he has the Rag effect, which means that any player who plays for them is deemed to be world class! Much of it is a clever ploy to increase the transfer value of some very ordinary players, you can see this working now in overdrive with Cleverly, mark my words in a season or two he will be playing for Bolton or even in the Championship, seen it so many times I just laugh at the hype. Very good buisiness strategy though when all is said and done

Defo Yaya, while Silva (my other choice) is a fantastic midfielder Yaya has the extra power and defensive capability
