I’ve been playing guitar for 30 years (albeit not in your league, and I’m dogshit as a singer), but I’d rate Liam only in as much as he was perfect for Oasis. Otherwise I feel the whining, nasally rasp is overegged. Not a patch on Rod the Mod (in his pomp), Joe Cocker, Paul Rodgers, John Lennon, Steve Marriott or any of a host of others possessed of a similar ‘catch’ in their voices IMO.....
Dave Gahan is a brilliant front man. Singer? Great. Vocalist? Martin L Gore is better.
What makes a voice the best? Whose is the hardest/impossible to imitate? The most range?
Frank Sinartra's for example are like Jack Wilsheres in Barca reserves.
