Otherwise I feel the whining, nasally rasp is overegged. Not a patch on Rod the Mod (in his pomp), Joe Cocker, Paul Rodgers, John Lennon, Steve Marriott or any of a host of others possessed of a similar ‘catch’ in their voices IMO.....

Dave Gahan is a brilliant front man. Singer? Great. Vocalist? Martin L Gore is better.

I don't like the timbre of Gore's voice, have always preferred Gahans's. I like the Baritone frequencies.
