I remember those! What was it the console did? My mate on the street I grew up in had one, the jammy twat.

Yeah it just made sound fx, there was a switch on the side of the console and you could change the sounds, plus when you pressed the button next to the right handgrip the console lit up with flashing leds. Great bike!

There was also another bike that was similar called Raleigh Vektar. It was white and had a more impressive control panel (had an Am radio) A lad on my estate owned one but I thought mine looked better :-P

A lad on our street had a vektar, i dont think they make this many different bikes anymore, they all just look similar now.

Raleigh wildcat
Raleigh activator (1st bike with front suspension, i thought i was cooler than fuck in the day)
GT performer BMX (got pinched from my back garden, twats)

I always wanted a Huffy "one tonne" but only ever saw one in that big bike warehouse in stockport over the road from grand central. Everything was oversized, massive fat frame, fat wheels, spin tech handlebars, ace bike.
Never ended up buying one and now it seems like they never existed.

Memories flooding back looking at those two. Good stuff.

Started with a Boxer then a Grifter and then a Raleigh Pursuit racing bike. Anyone remeber the Raleigh Striker with the pedal-back brake - saw my mate fall off his many times cos of it!

I shared a moulton bike with my sister the girl up the road had a chopper and we used to take turns going round the block .

One of those 3 wheeler jobs with a sort of boot to put the action man in - just one front brake so prone to jack-knife / topple over on corners.

Raleigh Commando - sort of like a smaller slightly gay Grifter.

Raleigh Sun Solo Racer - shit sturmey archer gears but faster than all my mates on Grifters.

Always wanted a BMX and later a Raleigh Bomber which must have been the nearest thing in the UK to an MTB in the early eighties.

^This - in MCFC Sky Blue - natch!
