Not familiar with either of these artists -- I know who T.C. White is but never heard his solo stuff -- but I liked that Ladyhawke tune quite a bit. Amazing what a good hook will do.

White, based on this tune, might best be described the way a critic once described Adrian Belew: "A welcome addition to other people's music."

Big radio hit over here when that Ladyhawke come out

I thought Neil Finn wrote some fantastic songs on Temple of Low Men but then Woodface more than matched it. I would agree with the view sometimes expressed that Tim is better when he is collaborating with other people. I think there's been a decent amount of sibling rivalry which we have been the beneficiaries of over the years!
Yes I am sure there was this rivalry between them as brothers always wanting to get closer to the perfect song they could never write.

I remember in an interview some years ago I heard Tim mentioning he wrote his best music while he a member of Split Enz with I Hope I Never from True Colours when Neil had started writing songs on his own , his best work and the peak of his song writing abilities.

Personally albeit True Colours is a good album which I quickly bought after its release I prefer earlier material from Split Enz and do rate them a better band than Crowded House. While not a huge fan of Tim's solo work I do think he is the better song writer and I always thought Neil had too much of Lennon McCartney in his mind but agreed he did write some excellent songs.

TC Whites song was flogged to death over here in oz and still gets the odd play on ABC's Rave program albeit broadcast in the graveyard hours these days a great show to introduce one to music you rarely hear on FM channels..
