The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

bands like PF would never make it nowadays simply because people wouldn’t have the patience - which is a shame.
Kids back then would only have the album sleeves to read whilst laying on bed.
Now kids are scrolling on Facebook and Twitter and other stuff on their mobiles - no chance modern generation would sit listen to a PF album all way through.

bloody insipid version of a truly great song yesterday and then draws one of my others against probably PF's favourite song today. @BlueHammer85 i thought we were mates?

Don't worry- it all evens out. You'll probably be up against something obscure like say, Bohemian Rhapsody next.

Stiff Saddleworth FWIW despite some vitriol I rate that song and put it forward as one of my top 5 songs in the sixties box set. Tom and Gerry's words in describing moments in time that we wouldn't even consider least of all reflect upon and bring them to life is mind blowing.

It’s absolutely beautiful. Believe it or not, my party piece is I can sing it, pitch perfect, in the same key as Art :-) as you say, the lyrics are perfection.

I am envious , I used to be able to get hold to a D harmony in my younger years but certainly not pitch perfect.

My son was always much more accomplished better than me with a capo on the fret so I would sing this song to his best version of PS.

Artistic differences cut their output by some margin and to think they only made 5 studio albums for me places their legacy along the lines of CCR as legends of their time in the highest bracket.

26 singles all of great quality and a number of others that would have made it had they decided to release them from just 5 albums places Paul Simon in the top echelon of song writers for me certainly in my top ten.

I differ to most fans and place PSRAT ahead of Bookends and BOTW as my favourite album of theirs in part due to this song. I still play it often today after some 50 years since I purchased it on vinyl.
