The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Always thought Annie Lennox's post Eurythmics career was less than it could have been. Think she's done much better than this, so going for the National as it's less mannered and annoying.
Precisely, because she was once a band member and then became a singer. The drop in quality when this happens — when an artist goes from musician to vocalist — is nearly inevitable. And why I can’t think of a single “singer” whose music I’d buy on account of his/her singing alone.

That said, I voted for her arid hookless warble because this The National song is fucking terrible, showcasing their periodic Radioheadian proclivities in spades.

Arguably the least enjoyable match-up we’ve had so far.

As a 12 year old, i stayed in Toronto with my younger cousins, aunt and uncle. There was sod all to do so I raided their record collection which was mainly Burt B and the like, but shining like a diamond, was BOTW which I had never heard before and loved immediately and still do. That was the sound of Toronto and I then moved to a different set of relations in Detroit where Alice Cooper was the sound of the moment (but thats a different story).

BOTW is still my favourite but I love all their albums and Paul Simons solo stuff is also exceptional. We will be well set if the pair of us ever do a karaoke - I do a mean 'So long Frank Lloyd Wright' as well.
Would love to (LOL) I found it easy to recite and remember the words of many a S&G track because in part they were so beautifully written.

LENNOOOOOOOOXXXXX! Does it in the final minute. the crowd go wild.
