The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Blimey Julia Fordham a blast from the past. If I explain that my ownership of the album that song comes from was part of an attempt to get into someone's knickers will the jury take that into consideration as mitigation? If I plead to further counts of owning Dido albums for the same reasons will the jury be sympathetic or throw the book at me?

Don't know why I bothered, that sort of tactic never works anyway. Should have just been done with it and found a nice Smiths fan to settle down with 20 years earlier than I eventually did.

If there's a more bizarre match up in the entire competition I'll be surprised!

Fordham seemed to have a lot of industry backing and promotion whenever it was. What happened ?

Edit: seems she's kept a career under the radar and has a fanbase around the world, so fair play. This track is bit bland but the South African tinge is there as it's a tribute to Nelson Mandela, apparently. She's no Sade though.

Jimi gets the vote, even though it's one of his more meditative numbers.

What I know about Jimi Hendrix is minimal but -

1. He taught Eddie Isley the guitar, he was employed by the greatest soul band in the early 60's - he was skint and had to sell his guitar strings for food, Ronnie and the rest took him on board
2. Mark and Lard posed his group as one of the funniest questions on their radio show - Long Live Mark and Lard
