Radiohead song 5 parts music to 5 parts fannying around. Less fannying around in the PF song so gets my vote.

There's over a minute of fannying in the intro of the PF track.....

I did vote for it but it's a shame that it wasn't a better Radiohead song. There's a few I would have voted for over this.

That is very true but it gets a bit of a free pass from me because the first bit reminds me of Pipkins!

It is interesting to see which tracks from the big beasts are getting nominated, not necessarily the obvious or the best ones.

Oh the irony of Radiohead being up against the band they are a limp, hookless, cynical, more depressed version of. A band whose spirit of inventiveness and depth of feeling they never captured. That’s not to say PF is perfect — they can be plenty pretentious and can trudge along tempo-wise, though I’ve always found the lyrics of “Time” quite moving. But when you’re the most overrated band in the history of pop music it doesn’t matter who you’re up against — you lose, as you damn well should.

The music industry and the literary industry are the two most competitive industries that exist, it's extremely hard to have great success in either.
Radiohead are one of the worlds biggest bands, (an extremely difficult feat to accomplish) as are Pink Floyd. Why are any of them overrated ? Overrated by whom ?

I just prefer Radiohead to PF. (Like I prefer The Kinks to The Rolling Stones) I'm not a PF fan. But to me neither are "overrated" It's just my personal preference.

To their fans they were great albums, the best, what's wrong with thinking like that.
It's subjective.

In fact it 100% absolutely does. How else would you determine it? In fact it makes them MASSIVELY overrated. We are talking 2 of the top 4 in HISTORY. Up there with Revolver and Sgt Pepper!

I’d argue anyone who thinks that has listened to about 1/10th the music I have almost definitionally. And as much as we want to make this purely subjective, it isn’t. There are objective qualities to good music too.

In context it makes no subjective sense. Objectively a vote is a vote I guess.
