The Bluemoon Song Cup 2024 - R3/M139 - P262 - The Who (Won't Get Fooled Again) v AC/DC (Highway To Hell)

I hope not.
That god only knows and Sloop John B are tedious songs when heard so frequently (singing anti rag songs to Sloop John B is acceptable though)
There’s way more better BB songs
You can't beat "Good Vibrations" but I think that "God Only Knows" is vying for 2nd place alongside "I Get Around".

Of course, this will all be debated in the new Rock Evolution thread when the time comes :)

I’ve come to realise over the last 4 or 5 years that “California Dreamin’” may be one of the greatest songs ever. Not just the song and words as such, but the way it’s performed. The way the main lyrics are sung and then parts repeated.

It’s a masterpiece, it would be a worthy winner of the competition, and I’m glad it’s not come up against any of my songs yet :)
No doubt about it. A genuine classic.

I agree GV is their masterpiece - one of the most epic singles ever.

My number two might be "California Girls"; although I prefer the David Lee Roth cover ;-)

LOL. You could cut the irony with a knife.
I was giggling about this earlier this morning and subsequently provided the appropriate 'like'.

I have just flown out to Copenhagen for a few nights and downloaded a film for the plane.

One from Netflix.

Managed to cram in about an hour of it during the flight whilst being pestered by my kids for snacks.

The film - The Killer with Michael Fassbender.

Anyone that has seen the film will now see the further irony from the above.

The fucking soundtrack is wall to wall Smiths FFS!?!

Barring one song I spotted from Portishead...............
