And not so much an album band, songs were written with "how would this sound live" in mind.
500.See if 50 days of Summer is on ;)
They should have opened it with 45 Hundred Times ;-)
They were great here … and only a year before live aid
I love them — great singles, many great albums.I’ll agree with that. A few exceptional songs, this being one of them, but not enough to put them in the same league as their contemporaries. Another discussion point for the Rock Evolution thread.
AI does. Take it up with them.I'm out if you think Green Day are punk.
I remember that tour well. I didn't fall for it then, but thought it all pretty funny at the time.Mighty band live though, especially late 70's/ early 80's. Even did a farewell/ call it quits tour and then...hey lads, want to go on first at live aid?...
I don't think rock was ever meant to be note perfect in my head - I think it can add to it (my 2p's worth)................Proper rock as well. Not note perfect. But brilliant for it.
Top rock rhythm section for me. Other contenders: Lee / Pearl; Squire / Bruford (or White); Bill / Charlie; Bonham / Jones. Honourable mentions: Paul / Ringo; Rutherford / Collins; Simmons / Criss;-) Smith / Flea; Tallent / Weinberg; Butler / Ward; Bruce / Baker.I love them — great singles, many great albums.
I think Daltrey is overrated as a singer and a front man.
Pete is a genius as a writer and a player, but periodically he could fall into some prentious output (his solo years mostly).
But Moon and Ox have to be in the top five rhythm sections of all time.
I can understand not being fond of them but they were very inventive, incredible live, sounded uniquely themselves and held it together for a long while.
Overhyped, no sir.
It's fear.Is this match over then? 2 and half days.
