The Bluemoon Song Cup 2024 - Round 4/M2 - P274 - Jean Michel Jarre (Oxygene Pt 4.) v Gladys Knight & The Pips (Midnight Train To Georgia)

As mentioned earlier in the thread that Who performance is epic and iconic - knee slide from Pete that Rodri would be proud of.

Love the Oasis track but it ain’t even my favourite Oasis song.

The Who for me.
Yep, there are 2 or 3 Oasis tracks that for me would be genuine contenders in this match-up, but this song ain’t one of ‘em.

Many big bands have hits and then "aficionado" songs -- and this seems the latter, same as "Bad" is for U2 (never released as a single, but 2nd only to "One" in fan polls).

I’m not sure how I’d class it really.

For me, I’d take Bring It On Down and Colombia and Little By Little as my top 3 Oasis tracks so this one just passes me by really. Doesn’t have the magic. And it’s up against one of, if not the very best, track by a worldwide colossus like The Who.

Don’t mind Oasis or the song, but this is nowhere near one of their best songs, and can’t touch WGFA. Mind you the videos picked don’t help it and great version of a Who performance against a mediocre and,for me,dull Oasis performance.
