The British Monarchy | Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested for misconduct in public office

Pretending to be interested is his job, and he's just following on from his father and grandmother.
What pisses me off is people saying they lead the nation when it's clear from the king's speech that they are just spouting the drivel written by the incumbent government.
Not a fan of any government or the monarchy then? Are you what they call an anarchist?

Nicked this from Facebook.
He obviously hates royalty (understatement of the year). Anyone agree? Haha.

"Nothing could be more of a fucking piss take than a frail inbred parasite wrapped in dead animal fur, dripping in stolen jewels robbed from half the fucking planet, sitting on a solid gold throne in a palace built on centuries of blood, slavery, war, famine and theft, lecturing the public about sacrifice, unity and “the future of the nation” while millions can barely afford to put the heating on. The King’s Speech. Look at the fucking theatre of it. Look at the sheer absurdity. A grown man wearing a diamond-encrusted crown worth more than entire towns, reading words written for him by unelected handlers, pretending this is modern civilisation instead of the last rotting carcass of feudalism dressed up with better cameras and cleaner propaganda.

And what was he actually reading? More control. More bureaucracy. More fucking regulation. More promises from the exact same machine that created the collapse in the first place. Talking about “strengthening public services”, “modernising Britain”, “security”, “digital reform”, “public accountability”, “online protections”, “new powers”, “economic growth”, “national resilience”, endless piles of legislation stacked on top of legislation while ordinary people are worked into the fucking ground just trying to survive another month.

You’ve got this ancient ceremonial relic, dressed like a medieval emperor, reading out plans for more digital systems, more regulation, more surveillance, more state intervention, more centralised control, while pretending it’s all about “fairness” and “safety”. You genuinely could not invent a more dystopian image if you tried. It looks like something out of the fucking Capitol in Hunger Games. Gold everywhere. Thrones. Jewels. Guards in costumes. Ancient rituals. Billion-pound estates. While the peasants sit at home wondering if they can afford eggs and electric this week.

You’ve got people doing 50-hour weeks, parents skipping meals so their kids can eat, pensioners freezing in their homes, young families buried in rent and debt, while this lot sit under chandeliers worth millions talking about “service”. Service to who exactly? Because it sure as fuck isn’t the public. These people have never lived like normal people for a single second of their lives. Private guards, private chefs, private doctors, private drivers, private estates, private schools, private everything, funded by the same public they emotionally blackmail into believing they somehow “represent the nation”.

Represent the nation? They don’t even represent reality.

And the weirdest fucking part is people still clap for it. That’s the real psychological operation. They’ve convinced millions of people that bowing to bloodlines is somehow noble instead of humiliating. Full-grown adults standing in the rain waving little flags at a family whose entire existence is based on the idea that they were born more important than you because of who slid out of whose womb hundreds of years ago. Strip away the orchestra music, the uniforms and the fake dignity, and it’s absolutely fucking insane.

If any politician stood up today and proposed this system from scratch, people would think it was satire.

“Right everyone, hear me out. We’re going to give one family billions of pounds, castles, jewels, military ceremonies, constitutional privilege and lifelong protection because their ancestors conquered people with swords.”

You’d get laughed straight out of the room.

But because it’s old, people defend it. That’s how deep the conditioning goes. They call it “tradition” because “national humiliation” doesn’t sound as marketable.

The whole thing is one giant ritual of class supremacy. A public display of power designed to remind ordinary people who still sits above them. They roll out the crown, the robes, the gold carriage, the ancient language, the guards, the jewels, the ceremonies, all to maintain the illusion that these people are somehow special instead of just beneficiaries of a centuries-old racket.

And there he is, sat on a throne made of stolen wealth, literally telling struggling people about economic responsibility and national duty while wearing enough diamonds to feed entire communities for generations. You honestly couldn’t write a more insulting image if you tried".

Does this bloke live near you Bill? Probably find his descendants on here.

Bang on the money though.

Anyhow, we wouldn't have this nonsense if the toss me off Cockneys hadn't put Charles ll on the throne.

Not an anarchist, just someone who is pissed off with those who pretend the monarch has any real power.
The government could be brilliant, crap, or anywhere in between and the speech they write for the king would match their standing. All the monarch does is read what is prepared for him, and I suspect the monarch will read it whether he thinks it is feasible or not.

He's a completely fucking inbred **** who pontificates about homelessness while living in a palace or a castle, the hypocrite. His family's net worth could eradicate homelessness in this country overnight.

Cheats on his wife and barely went to his job.

Even his own brother (who is also a **** and as equally useless as him, brags about murdering innocent people with a fraction of his tech while in the army like he was playing PS5) hates him.

I have met William and stayed well out of his way. You can feel the fakery from a million miles - pretending to be interested in whatever function he is attending and whatever people he is talking to, when it's all one huge facade and load of cynical bollocks to try to keep the royals relevant and help them survive. That's not his fault of course but it takes a certain type of sociopath to wear such a friendly mask in public while behaving as he does away from the propaganda.
Would you care to ellabarate ?

The key power of a constitutional monarchy is the power it can deny to the executive.

Yes, like King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy denied executive power to Mussolini.

These are theories advanced to justify the unjustifiable. See also, 'they bring in tourists'.

But you cite one of the few examples where an autocrat wasn't kept out of complete power. He subverted a constitutional monarchy with the dire consequences we all know about. The experience of the remaining northern monarchies in the 20/1st centuries show it is the most stable form of democratic government.

I was always lead to believe that is what the Monarchy prevent more than what they actually control etc.
I am not a big monarchist, but imagine without them we could have a Corbyn or Farage wreaking havoc on the country.

Exactly so, imagine what President Farage would be capable of if the republicans got their way.

I went Rundon last week and did an open top bus tour with the kids. We went around one of the kings inner city private gardens. The tour guide said "imagine having a private garden in the centre of london"
I added "imagine having a private garden in the centre of London and not letting anyone use it!" Mrs Gouldybobs got my thigh in her grip before I could continue

How? If Corbyn or Farage were leaders of a party that commanded a majority, or were thought to be best placed to form a government, the Monarch would have to invite them to form one.

As prime minister their power could be constrained by the monarchy, hopefully preventing the extremist autocracy those individuals would probably seek to create .

I always thought the constitution prevented a Farage or Corbyn type of a President to do what they wanted. If there was no monarchy they would have no accountability for their actions. I was of the understanding the constitution prevented that. I will happily stand corrected if that no longer is the case.

The idea that a fascist or communist government would allow constitutional niceties to halt them in their tracks is laughable. These people are revolutionaries. They rip up the old order and start up a new paradigm. If anyone gets in their way, they shoot them or treat them with extreme prejudice.

Let's, however, consider a more realistic scenario. A party of the extreme* right or left gets elected into power. The King is constitutionally obliged to accept the formal advice of the PM. Even if that advice is 'abdicate'. No Act of Parliament, no matter how radical, has been stopped by the sovereign in modern history. (They have fiddled a few things to suit their own back pockets, but that's another issue.)

* 'Extreme' is a loaded and prejudiced term. I use it in the normal sense of 'more left/right than anything previous.' It would be 'extreme', for example, to give everyone a house and a job and ensure that no one goes hungry. It is not necessarily inherently evil, though it may well be.

In this country the 'old order' has a habit of coming through in the end - I think Oliver's head was last seen under some Cambridge Uni floorboards in 1960.
