Just had a peak on Twitter. Good lord, it is toxic. Claims and counter claims about the reality of a short, blurred video, and, somehow, Meghan seems to be a target. Cries of joy at how marvellous Kate is and how she's clearly on the mend, against cries of that is clearly not her and it is all very weird.

Who would want to be a part of all of that?

And would all go away if rather than grainy film taken from a car and endorsed by a less than honest newspaper was replaced by an actual 1 minute live statement from both of them sayimg all well or sad news.

While they allow the confirmations to be subject to skepticism specualtion will carry on, especially amongst the social media loons

You are totally right. But once again, why? Why should anyone really need to issue live or not live statements because twitter demands it. I find that just weird. 'We live in a social media age', well then social media can wait. And by extension, conventional media. I have no issue with that.

They've found Princess Kate, just doing a bit of shopping and by chance the usual paps that follow her round were all otherwise engaged, so the only shots are taken are on a Nokia Pixelator extreme.

Yes, but let’s not forget they give the green light to the likes of The Sun, Daily Mail and other right wing papers to publish all this.
