The chances of Slur Alex retiring this season?

I think he's desperate for the 'perfect' season to end on, ie a treble winning season, the one that the media wanks over still to this day. This season the CL will be his 'stain', as last year us winning the league was. He will keep finding excuses.

No chance he will retire, he will still feel hard done by about their Champions League exit and won't wangt to go with that 'stain' on his career.

This would imply that he had a choice.

Are you saying they'll sack him?!

Fergie still believes he can win another Champion's League title, and their exit this season will have done nothing to convince him otherwise (given its nature). Personally, unless someone "does a Chelsea" and flukes it, I can't see an English winner for the next few years, the top 2 in Spain are too strong, plus the German sides are looking good, and Italy is resurgant. Fergie will give it at least another year, if United take a major step backwards next season, either domestically, or in Europe, he may have a think about retirement then, but I think we're looking at least 2 or 3 years down the line, maybe more.

He could not retire last summer after City won the title. He has hit back by maybe winning the title with the highest points tally ever. Not a bad final memory for the history books.
On a side note, there is no World Cup or EUROs this year, so this summer can be all about his retirement and the appoinment of his successor. Utd will relish the maximum commercial value in this. Its his swansong.

I don't think the old piss-can will retire. He is too vain to jack it in.

FWIW, he won't win five Champions' League titles, either.
