Do you have a song you associate with the the rise of our great club.

1. She Bangs The Drum
2. Size of a Cow (Are you Laughing Now)
Like a Rolling Stine (Bob Dylan).

The mods are going move this to the music thread, innit? But the players wouldn't be very good if they did.

Stupidly Happy - XTC

'I'm stupidly happy, Everything's fine'

'And if the Devil walks up dressed in any disguise
I take him by the collars look him in the eye
I'm stupidly happy
Now you're my defence
I'm stupidly happy
This world's making sense'

Have the Doves written a song called ”Beautiful City” or something like that? I remember hearing a song with that chorus when I was at the Etihad a couple of years ago. It sounded like Doves, but I haven’t found the song anywhere.

“Live for City”
Never been released

What was the Oasis track being played at the end although they usually play a few different ones tbf - I also kinda feel like the Oasis/Manchester City connection does something for our atmosphere, support, fans gained, players joining etc than a lot of us who've grown up in and around Manchester realise.

"Some might say" Noel Gallagher going into the dressing room is a bit unnecessary but I bet some of those players from abroad who've seen Oasis as world super stars, actual rock stars, feel something from that; and from hearing Oasis rock anthems belted out as our own anthems - the connection between the 2 - as, I don't know how to describe what that possibly means.

But I do think the connection gives us something.
Like, if you win at Bayern what German rock anthems are playing out that the club has a connection with? Is Utd playing Simply red...is Mick Hucknall being wheeled out looking like a rotten peach gonna add anything to the atmosphere or player moral?

There's not many recent bands with the sheer rock star arrogance of Oasis and I do think that adds something, maybe?
