The Supreme Court case cited is a beaut.

The lawful excuse defence goes wide (a precedent in Lithuania!) and the concept that if a criminal conviction would be disproportionate then acquittal is justified should deal with the view that the jury should have convicted and left sentencing to the judge.

You could still argue with the Supreme Court but not with the jury. And the AG seeking to ask the higher courts to intervene should fail at an early stage (perhaps once she reads that post in Bluemoon).

Actually I’ve changed my mind about this.

I think the jury’s verdict IS the beginning of the end of western civilisation after all.

Gammon is a reference to skin colour and I think we should be blind to it.

if you're using it negatively, which you are in mocking and being critical of him, I'd say so, because it's bringing his homosexuality into the criticism when it's irrelevant.

It is an accurate term, homosexuals self identify with and not a slur. The only mocking was the use of his nick name.

Can’t we argue ideas over what people look like and who they want to have relationships with?
