Tories urged to investigate Warrington branch over antisemitic tweet

The Conservative party is under pressure to investigate a string of remarks about a Jewish MP by its members, including a prospective councillor who tweeted: “Keep the Aryan race going.”

Sharon Thomason, who was selected last week as a Tory candidate for Warrington borough council, made the “repugnant” comment to the Labour MP Charlotte Nichols in February last year.

The Conservative party said on Monday that Thomason would no longer be standing for election and that it took action “swiftly and immediately” after being made aware of her comments.

I’ve no idea the amount of stupid you must be to not only think like that but to actually write down stuff like that as well. The context isn’t even relevant in this case. They both need going (not just the one as it currently is)

Has this warrington story hit the news channels as I cannot find it on bbc or sky andnhaven't seen it reported bar in some papers.

My point is unfortunatley anti-semitism is ignored by many news outlets unless they think it suits when any story about any party being prejudice should be highlighted

I used the the ken loach analogy because it is a story of little significance about objections to a lecture yet has gained more traction as a topic people are discussing when really the antisemitism of warrington and a potential tory councilors is more important in my opinion.

Will the big society step in to create ladderbanks for those less fortunate and distribute rope ladders to families in need?
