The Conservative Party

I keep saying that the government will get back more than they give out. There will be more people moving into their first homes than pegging it. Just look around at all the new homes being built and how many people will be moving out into their first home. Just think of all those students in their final year in September then them moving into a new flat/home next year all having to pay back £200 they didn’t get.
It's a scam.

Government housing target is 300,000 new homes a year... so added revenue of £12m in year 1, £24m, £36m, £48m, and £60m in year 5. £180m return...

A lot of this is bollocks though, the media doesn’t have access to who has a US green card or even a list of non-doms in the UK. The blog frames it that the media has known about this all along or could have, when in actual fact it’s only because it’s been leaked by senior sources (likely no. 10) that they know about it at all.

That’s just how shit works sometimes.

Also some of the stuff just wasn’t relevant 2 years ago. Everyone knew about his wife’s stake in her dads business but it wasn't a story until they kept doing business with Russia despite Sunak levelling huge sanctions.

It has to be remembered he came to power during lockdown when there was no access for journalists to government for anything except covid. There was very limited contact and there were no public events for him to show how out of touch and buffooney he is - like filling up some random persons car and not knowing how to pay, or releasing photographs claiming to be reading the budget but very clearly reading a double page interview of himself in the Mail.

Not to mention the biggest gaffe of all - his first non-covid budget.

So while I’ll always get onboard a pile on the Whitehall media in this country, I think it’s entirely wrong to pretend this is all stuff that should have been reported in April 2020.
I dunno maybe I have higher expectations than you? Then again you plugged the Marina Hyde piece .....

Well if you agree with the blogger you posted, youre expecting the press to report on stories before they exist, which is just fucking stupid.

Not really. Just agree with the premise of his piece that we probably deserve better than Guardian columnists despairing at the level of cynicism within Westminster.

It’s either ok or it isn’t. You can’t pick and choose based on the person.

I’m also not a government minister - but I suspect you may have already guessed that ;)

Yes, you can. The PM and cabinet are, and should, be held to a higher standard than your average Joe. That is the way it works, and after telling Sun readers that it’s none of their business because this is ‘how us rich folk do things’, his wife will now pay tax.

Blind Pew could have seen how this was going to end, which is why either you, or Sunak, trying to defend it was doomed to failure.

‘Chancellor Rishi Sunak's wife, Ashkata Murty has volunteered to pay UK income tax on her worldwide income. Ms Murty owns £700m pounds in shares of the Indian IT giant Infosys founded by her father from which she received £11.6 million in dividend income last year...’
@BBC

why do MP's keep defending them just to be made clowns of a couple of days later - she won't be a happy bunny as she will have to delay changing the Rio

From “This is a smear campaign. My wife has done nothing wrong” to paying it in under 24 hours. He can kiss being the next PM goodbye.

Now to wait for the next greedy Tory to have their dodgy dealings be revealed. I don’t think we’ll have to wait for too long.
