No I've been wracking my brains but can't come up with anyone credible either. The centrist element of the Tory party has been underestimating/misreading the right since the days of Thatcher's leadership campaign and that complacency means they now in effect find themselves purged. I think it's been easier to subvert the Conservatives compared to Labour, partly because of the level of backing they've had but also due to the nature of their membership and their structure.Unfortunately, Rory Stewart has been expelled from the party.
Can’t think of any others.
Great post, by the way.
