The Conservative Party

One of the most insidious beliefs being (again) perpetuated in modern society is that ‘the rich deserve to be rich and the poor deserve to be poor’.

It’s designed to get the lower and middle classes to fight each other, whilst the upper class exploits us for our productive value and extracts what little wealth we have (because merely making us subservient is not enough, they need us to be captive).

The Tories (and other parties across various countries) have been again weaponising that belief we thought we had shed (so many times in the past) for two decades and we are seeing the consequences of it now, which are not dissimilar to the heights of the gilded age.

After this past week, I have begun calling the current global state of affairs ‘The Gilted Age’.

all those in the middle who have thought for ages "I'm ok - it could never happen to me" as they look down are about to have 6 to 8 months where they are going to have to re-assess what can happen to them...... they won't like it when they see it.

Sophie ridge was good this morning , turns out if any tories vote against the budget they get the whip removed , how is that democratic and in the interest of the public they represent
They should stand by their principles and get the whip removed. That will reduce her majority of pushing other bills through and allow the party to field "decent" candidates next GE.

Thats how thick they all are - they bang on about having an 80 seat majority - they don't - they have lost by-elections since the GE. If the answer is to alienate you side and reduce your own majority you'd have to question their tactics wouldn't you.
What we have learned about the Truss premiership is that they are a disaster but remarkably they can't see that every time they comment on their own actions they just make things worse for everyone.

Alot of these people are born into positions of power and wealth already, they have done nothing to earn it, or deserve it, a lot like the royal family. Fair play to the working class that are self made millionaires but they tend to be the grounded ones, as they come from normal backgrounds. It's an archaic class system no better than Rome with emperors and plebs.
