The Conservative Party

From an editorial in the Guardian written by a civil servant.

The brutality and chaos of what is now unfolding at the heart of government is most starkly described by one memorable quote from an unnamed cabinet minister, who said: “It’s like Lord of the Flies.”

Certainly, William Golding’s tale about a post-apocalyptic island under the rule of upper-class yobs who worship a pig’s head on a stick hardly feels like satire now.

Meanwhile the Mail and Express are sticking with the line that the Truss speech was a triumph, only contradicted by their own comments section. The bot machine must be out of order.

These Bastards are inducing a mental health ticking time bomb. People are getting more anxious, angry, and potentially suicidal as they feel helpless with no one to fight their cause against the culture wars and demonisation which will now take place to distract from a rich bastards being allowed to get richer. Swooping in like vultures to take people's homes and health off them. In return for working 2 job 80 hour weeks to just be able to pay the rent these cunts will charge them and the bills that will follow with it.

I'm becoming one of the angry ones. If I fight, as maybe thousands of others that will give these cunts justification to take more away from us.

I could use all the legal mechanisms afforded to me to attack them. Yet, more legislation is pushed through to make it harder it makes me feel like giving up.

Don't give up hope, that's what they want. When they transferred Mandela to Robben Island, I sure they thought that's that bastard dealt with then; but they didn't take into account what the human spirit is capable of. I've had a few despairing thoughts recently, but I'm of the view you cannot let the bastards win. I think they've overplayed their hand and made it an existential battle for too many people and irrespective of how much 'power' they wield there's a lot more of us than there are of them. If enough of us can resist the age-old tactic of divide and conquer we will find a way to rid ourselves of this pox on our land. For every swivel eyed loon who still backs them, I know two dyed in the wool Tories who are bewildered by what is happening.

Listening on the radio, she cannot fund these tax cuts unless she takes from health, education and few other key public services, they reckon that backbenchers won’t allow it, she’s a dead woman walking. If they don’t follow their manifesto pledges which they are elected on they shouldn’t be allowed to govern, call a GE put us all out of our misery, cunts.

Most of her MPs don't believe the "growth" thing will work, and replacing Truss seems a non-starter, so an earlier general election where they lose badly may seem preferable to one later where they never recover. Or just carry on with the MP's perks while sorting out their next job. Or have a proper coup, with someone closer to the majority of Tory MPs. But there's no point unless they change the leadership election rules to take the decision away from the members.
