Since 2010, the court and tribunal estate has changed significantly. Based on the available information, between 2010 and 2019,
• 162 magistrates’ courts have closed, out of 323,
• 90 county courts have closed, out of 240,
• 18 dedicated tribunal buildings have
closed, out of 83,
• 17 family courts have closed, out of 185,
• 8 crown courts have closed, out of 92.
In total 295 court facilities (the individual services listed above) closed during this time.
Conservatives - “I wonder what’s caused this backlog!?”
I bet we could clear the backlog overnight if we stopped prosecuting people for possessing small amounts of drugs for their personal use.

Dunno if you recall a couple of months ago ( at the moment seems like a lifetime ago ) Patel or Truss claimed the problem was single mums in the queue waiting to be jailed for non-payment of the BBC License fee and it turned out the number of people ( not single mums but people ) in jail for that was none..... they are out of ideas and out of control

Because 6 years ago we gave 50m+ unqualified idiots a vote on the most ridiculous premise. I include myself as one of those unqualified idiotsWe're in a mess, I'm fearful for what lies ahead of us, we've got absolute charlatans running ( or not) the country, how have we allowed this to happen, how do totally un qualified idiots control the country, everything they touch turns to shit, my kids and there kids and there kids will be paying for this incompetence for years to come.

Talk on Radio 4's Today, from the head of Conservative Home, of the Conservatives putting forward a Sunak/Mordaunt leadership pact that could see Truss junked and those two installed to stabilize things. It would be done by bypassing the membership. Purely hypothetical, for now, but fascinating to see how some are viewing the situation.

It’s amazing that all the shit the conservatives have thrust onto the country since they came to power in 2010. Only now when peoples ability to keep the roof over their head is destroyed and when our pension pots will be worth nothing does the electorate realise that it is time for them to go.
Our AWOL Chancellor - has an odd gait doesn't he? He walks like he has shat himself and is trying to keep it in the gusset of his underpants until he can get indoors and deal with things
