The Conservative Party

chapter 2 in the upcoming book "How we lost an election "

Priority 1: Our rich backers In order to make massive profits for our portfolio.
Priority 2: Our older people to ensure we keep making massive profits for our portfolio.
Priority 3: Keep the masses down by throwing them a crumb now and then So we keep making massive profits for our portfolio.

More horseshit.

It’s actually £75 million of public funds backing BMW’s £600 million investment - you only have to read the second paragraph to see this.

Real details man this Richard Murphy isn’t he?

You're asking the wrong question ...You should be asking why is the UK Government having to pay anything to BMW (let alone £75 million) when the BMW Group ended the financial year 2021 with all-time highs for Group revenues, earnings and net profit and are now proposing a share buy back scheme because they have so much surplus cash.

That wasn't written on the side of a bus ws it?

Murphy obviously got it wrong with the £600m for BMW. But there's £1bn for "supporting" battery technology - but they wouldn't give Britishvolt the money.

Battery making has to have support, if we want to go electric. Where the lithium comes from is another matter.

But subsidies need control. Courtyards got £2.8m to reequip their factory in N Wales, then closed the factory and took all the new equipment to a factory in France. (I suppose we need to record that Courtaulds was another firm founded by immigrants from Europe.)

Thanks for posting - I hadn’t realised that BMW were a profit making organisation, chiefly because, as you put it, I’ve never read it on the side of a bus.

Last time I took my car there for a service I’d just assumed that the charge was being used to buy some lunch for the volunteers who work there, with anything left over going to the local orphanage.
