The reason that Thatcher came to power is because at the end of the 1970s the country was in a pretty sorry state, but it’s in a far worse place now.

We were warned. Jim Callaghan: "The question you will have to consider is whether we risk tearing everything up by the roots." Callaghan claimed a Conservative government "would sit back and just allow firms to go bankrupt and jobs to be lost in the middle of a world recession" and that the Conservatives were "too big a gamble to take". Plus Thatcher's denial that they'd double VAT (which only went up from 8% to 15%).

Well so far more than 4% of the Tory MP's elected at the last election have had to resign for either financial or sexual impropriety.

Those are the ones that actually resigned or were sacked off, so doesn't include Johnson and his chums who waltzed off into the sunset before they could be held to account, or others like Cleverly who just makes jokes about using date rape drugs on his wife!
