The Conservative Party

I wonder under what terms she is visiting Israel. She is a backbencher-nothing more. If it's coming out of tory funds, fine, but if the trip is coming out of taxpayers coffers then that should be looked at straight away. No different to "mad cow Truss" when she visits the right wing meetings in the US.
The information will be available on the Register of Interests in a couple of weeks.

Always worth having a look through that from time to time. Seems lots of Labour MPs like a visit to Israel as well, although they’d probably be happier if they didn’t have to declare their trips over there.

Also interesting to see how much Jeremy Corbyn has paid his solicitors as part of his defence against libel. A small fortune by the looks of it.

Is it right that Truss will now be receiving 125k pa for the rest of her life for bestowing the taxpayers with three months of her impeccable leadership?

And we wonder why the country is in such a state.

And back to the culture wars again.

We're leaving the ECHR if the Rwanda bill is fucked.

He's banking on his plane isn't he?

I've seen Sunak's bullshit take. A strange stance considering the Supreme Court explicitly stated this in their ruling:

This legal principle of non-refoulement is laid down in the United Nations Refugee Convention, to which the UK is a party. There are also provisions which have the same effect in other treaties to which the UK is a party. The UN Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment. The UN International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. And the European Convention on Human Rights. It is therefore not only the ECHR which is relevant to this case as is sometimes thought, there are other international treaties which also prohibit the return of asylum seekers to their countries of origin without a proper examination of their claims. These international treaties are reflected in our domestic law. In the first place, there are several acts of Parliament which give effect to the principle of non-refoulement as set out in the UN Refugee Convention.

So what the fuck does leaving the ECHR have to do with it? Nothing, that's what.

Politicians might be known for skirting the truth, exaggeration, hyperbole, evasion tactics... but the outright brazen lies this shower come out with sickens me. It's "alternative facts" of the worst kind. My corpse will be cold and lifeless before I ever even consider giving this lot the time of day ever again.

The electorate should eviscerate them until the only thing left is Jacob Rees-Mogg's ghost haunting the Commons, serving as a reminder of why we should never put them in power again.

Wonder if the public purse will pay his libel fine if found guilty....

As far as I know, there is an annual allowance of up to a certain amount to run her office. So it isn't that she's paid 125k (or whatever it is).

The case against him has already been dropped. Surprised you weren’t aware of that.

It still cost him the thick end of 200k though, or at least it cost all the mugs donating to the company he set up, JBC Defence. Nice pay day for the lawyers though and not quite the sort of redistribution of wealth Jeremy normally strives for.

I believe she can claim up to that to run an office. I don’t think she gets cash in hand.
