That's not a thing any more, and hasn't been for a while. Anything over 100k will 'be considered for debate.' They will also inform you if your petition is too similar to an existing one.

It's a debate in Westminster Hall rather than the Commons - it's a fairly minor thing.

It's been noted that Badenoch demanding resignation based on a dubiously run petition seems to have gone a bit early - 3 weeks and she's already gone to the top level.

The Petitions Committee refuses a debate as it has already been debated recently.

Or the House of Commons changes the rules to exclude petitions calling for a general election.

6 million signed the petition calling for the government to cancel Brexit (and that was real people signing).

Well, as it's Jenrick watching, I would guess Jenrick wants it.

I agree that it's not something that can easily be solved. The MP pool is so small - 40 of which are brand new, 10 or so not interested (Sunak, Hunt, etc), 10+ too old, 1 is Mark Francois, etc - that finding a new look/approach is very difficult.

I think that was yesterday's pitch - we got it wrong, we're now New Tory, nothing to do with what we said 6 months ago - while also trying to elbow into Reform territory on immigration.
